Towels can make a mixed load awkward to judge. A light shirt may feel ready to put away while a folded towel edge still holds moisture. Plan around the items you actually need, rather than expecting everything on the line to finish together.
Start with the towel’s care instructions
Check the label before changing the wash or spin settings. If the permitted programme offers a stronger spin, that can remove more water before the towel reaches the line. Do not use a setting the care label rules out just to fit a shorter weather window. GINETEX explains the drying symbols .
Give each towel room. Avoid layering several towels over the same rail, and notice whether a folded section is pressed tightly against another wet surface. A little rearrangement can expose a damp patch without requiring a new rack. Check that the line and pegs can support the wet load.
Choose the heavy-load setting
In AirDry, select Towels and enter your real wind exposure and collection deadline. A sheltered patio should not be treated as an open garden. Use the complete suggested window, including its later finish estimate, when deciding whether a load fits your day.
AirDry’s estimate is provisional. It does not know your towel’s weight, weave or exact water content. If there is no suitable window, split out lighter items or choose another drying method allowed by the label.
Check before putting towels away
Feel the thicker borders, folded areas and corners as well as the open middle. Record a damp check if those areas are still wet, then check again later. Log the finish only when the towel is actually ready. Your own observations are more useful than adjusting the log to match a forecast.
